Dungeons & Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game. Players create characters and make choices together as the story unfolds, guided by a Game Master and the roll of the dice. You don't need to know the rules or prepare anything in advance - just show up ready to imagine, decide, and have fun.
New players are welcome, and experienced players will find plenty to enjoy as well.
A D&D One-Shot is a complete adventure played in a single session (3-4 hours). No ongoing commitment required. Sometimes these are adventures written by published creators. Sometimes these are homebrew adventures crafted by Ken Collins.
Ken Collins has been playing Dungeons & Dragons since the 1980s, and from the very beginning, he discovered that his favorite part of the game wasn't just playing characters (though that's a blast) - it was building worlds, crafting adventures, and guiding stories at the table. Like many longtime players, life eventually took over, and D&D took a back seat through much of the 1990s and 2000s.
In the 2010s, Ken returned to the game with a renewed appreciation for what tabletop role-playing does best: bringing people together through shared imagination and collaborative storytelling. Since then, he has been running games regularly, most often in Denver during several trips there each year, with a focus on welcoming tables, strong narratives, and engaging one-shot adventures.
To create a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment where new players feel comfortable jumping in, experienced players stay engaged, and everyone leaves the table having shared a great story.
Artifacts 302 is one of the coolest buildings in Farmington. It is located in what used to be the historic Farmington Lumber and Hardware building at 302 E Main St - at the first round-about as you're entering Historic Downtown Farmington. Now, it is an art gallery featuring many on-site artists, the Studio Bake Shoppe with great coffee and freshly-baked baked goods, and a Gift Shoppe up front. The venue is warm, friendly, and beautiful - and very welcoming to our one-shot events.
Please support our wonderful hosts with a purchase from the Bake Shoppe or the Gift Shoppe!
